Cool beans, man. I think we all have lists like this. I hope someday that I leave a positive enough imprint on someone's life to be on a similar list. Always neat to step back and ask, "How did I get here?"

It would be interesting to see how people would react if a group delivered as much hate speech, picketed, or committed hate crimes toward fat people in the same intensity, and consistency as the LBGT community receives...Speaking of Gluttony and validating behavior.

Well stated, Cindy! They totally want us to validate their behavior and that is something that I cannot do. But it is equally sad, that many are not satisfied with love and acceptance as people, but are driving heavily toward a wholesale acceptance of their private and personal practices.

Thanks, Don. I have thought about this blog many times since I read it. I haven't quite known how to put into words how much I really appreciate everything you said. I have family and friends who are homosexual and I love them just like I love myself and all my other family and friends...because we are all sinners. But, I'm not sure it is enough. I believe even more than love, what they want is for me to say it ISN'T a sin. I am willing to validate them as a person. But, they want me to validate their activity. Because, they believe that their activity is part of who they are, from their perspective, by not validating their activity, I am not validating them. I don't even converse about it. They just know I am a Christian. I love and love and love on them. And Pray.

I have worked with bad, good, and great leaders over the course of 35 years in the corporate arena. I would stack Kyle up as one of the best of the best, and would hire him in a moment if I had a fitted position available. You will be blessed with the way Kyle and Nic love people. They are both awesome and we as the Elkins family will be praying for them as well as your ministry.

I agree. We are all wounded and involve ourselves in all sorts of behaviors to meet a need that only the Lord can fill. Our Merciful Savior comes along side of us, whispers his compassion and care and brings our failings before the Father - Every Day.

I agree with Shelbi, I couldn't say AMEN! enough. With two teens in the home one girl and one boy I have to say it is a challenge but you have to know their friends and what they are doing on those computers. Another thing that is being missed in this world of technology is how much it separates us from each other. Face to face conversations and even on the phone talking to one another is becoming obsolete.

Hi Pastor Don,

In my trials and tribulations I have found the thing that gets me through the most is knowing God has me were I belong. Where I am in my life good or bad God wants me in this place for a reason. Music can be very powerful and influence us in ways that are good or bad. It can give us motivation to go forward with our beliefs and motivate us into passing on the word of God to others that are here in this world with us. God didn't make this world for us to not be in it he made it for us to live in it and prosper in his light and his word. I'm glad to be in Gods world and I know I am where I belong.

Hi Pastor Don,

Let me say I support you in this decision. I think hiring from with in in this case is a good move and the way you went about it was in my opinion professional.
