ReCAST Kids is the children’s ministry of ReCAST Church. Our goal is to provide a safe and loving environment where kids can learn about God and His amazing love for them! All our children’s programs take place in the Kiddie U. facility. If you are a first time visitor, please arrive a few minutes early and come register your children at Kiddie U. before the service begins. Safety is our first priority! All of our childcare volunteers have passed a background check and have been screened by our leadership. You can view our safe haven and discipline policies here. We look forward to meeting you!
Nursery
Childcare is provided by caring adults and approved junior helpers for ages birth to 2 years old. There is also a “cry room” located in the women’s bathroom where you can go if you prefer to keep your infants with you in the service.
J.A.M.
Our 3-5 year olds form the J.A.M. class. J.A.M. stands for Jesus And Me. In this class we are laying a foundation of teaching children the basics of who Jesus is and what He has done for us through a fun curriculum that teaches Biblical truths. They also enjoy worshiping God through music, crafts, and activities that reinforce biblical concepts.
S.L.A.M.
Kindergarteners through 2nd grade make up our S.L.A.M. classroom. S.L.A.M. stands for Serve God, Love Others, And Memorize Scripture. In this class we continue to teach the children about who God is, what He has done for them, and then to respond by serving Him and loving others around them. We really desire for the kids to “hide God’s Word” in their hearts, so we encourage Scripture memory. We use a fun curriculum that teaches biblical truths and activities and crafts to reinforce those concepts.
**J.A.M. and S.L.A.M. kids start their Sunday morning in their classes at the Kiddie U. facility. They have worship time together and then go to their separate classes for Bible teaching and activities.
W.H.A.M.
Our 3rd-5th grade class is called W.H.A.M. W.H.A.M. stands for Worship God, Honor His Name, Allow the Holy Spirit to Work in Me, and Make Christ Known. As the kids continue to get to know our great God through the study of His Word, we want to teach them that their response should be to worship Him and to honor Him through the way they live. By allowing the Holy Spirit to change them to be more like Christ, we hope that other people in their lives will see that they are different and will want to get to know Jesus Christ too! We use a fun curriculum to teach biblical truths along with small group discussion and activities to reinforce what they are learning from the Bible.
**W.H.A.M. kids join their parents for Worship at ReCAST and then are brought down to Kiddie U. for their Bible lesson and activities by their teachers during the Community Time. Also, once every 6 weeks, these kids attend an entire worship service with their families. We feel that this is important as it gets the kids used to hearing the sermon and gives them an opportunity to take communion when their parents feel they are ready.
