Thanksgiving

It is scary how quickly the things of life are taken for granted. I was in college when I recieved my first email. Prior to that day, every correspondence I had with a person was via a corded telephone or a mailbox!

I am thankful for the ease of communication of our current age.

When ReCAST Church started a few years ago, I was the only paid staff and it was lonely. Nearly three years ago, we hired Kyle Douglass as an Associate Pastor, and I was no longer alone.

I am thankful for the time Kyle has been here serving ReCAST Church.

Almost 19 years ago, I stood at the altar and said “I do” to a wonderful young lady. We had no clue what the future held, but we launched off into marriage with hope and a prayer that we would make it. Today we are still in love.

I am thankful for a godly wife who has stood by me in the storms of life and continues to be my favorite person.

I could continue to list what comes to my mind in regard to thankfulness. I am thankful to God for three healthy, growing children, who are learning to follow him. I am thankful to God for the places that have formed me spiritually, like Camp Barakel, Columbia International University, Dewsbury, England, and Berean Baptist Church. I am thankful to God for the wonderful people he has sent along the way to sharpen me. I am thankful for the many decisions to follow Christ that I have witnessed as the Pastor of ReCAST Church.

But most importantly, I am thankful for the grace of God! He has loved me, and has given me Forgiveness, Hope and Love through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ His Son!
