My wife is one of the strongest people I’ve ever met. She gave birth to three quite sizable humans, without pain medication and barely a word of complaint. She is strong. I say that to set the stage for what comes next.
Linda has been diagnosed with MS. She continues to be strong through this scary and confusing diagnosis. But her strength is NOT the point of this post.
Today I sit here next to her at the hospital where she is receiving her first full infusion of the medication that we hope will stall or at least slow the progress of this degenerative disease. And her strength is NOT the point. We joked on the way here about all the people who start campaigns, like #lindastrong. And while I understand the sentiment, I am concerned that we need more than her strength. We ended the conversation by deciding against the “kick MS’s a**!” T-shirts.
Instead we are going to keep trusting in God. His strength is more than enough to see us through to wherever He is leading . . . Which His Word tells us is a pretty good place. Our trust is NOT in a cure to this . . . Our trust is in a Savior’s faithfulness to lead us ALL THE WAY HOME!
