Dads and husbands, this blog is for you. Wives, moms, and singles are encouraged to listen in.
This is a season for men to step up! This is not a time to “support” your wife in all of her hard work trying to figure out what SHE is going to do with your kids for schooling. This is a time to rise up and lead with strength, love, and kindness. Shoulder that burden of leadership that God has given to you. And of course I am not calling you to steam-roll your wife with your plans and desires. But this is a time to lovingly serve your family, with your leadership.
ReCAST is hosting a homeschool Q&A this evening and my hope and prayer is that dads and moms come together. It is difficult to communicate an event like this to men in the church because women are much more represented on social media where the event has been advertised. But I am still hopeful that many men will attend and will process and work through these difficult decisions during this very difficult time!
These are trying times for families. And when we go through trials, leadership becomes more and more valuable. So step up men. Show up for your family. Your wife and kids need you now more than ever! Be a stable and wise guide for this Fall in your family.
There is no doubt in my mind that some will bristle at this blog that has the audacity to speak only to the men in this way. But I also have a hunch that many women would love for their husbands to show more interest and actually engage their family on the tough decisions everyone is working through right now.
