Back in January of this year, I blogged about the space issues at ReCAST Church. We have experienced significant growth over our three and a half years of service, and last January we reoriented our seats in order to use our space more efficiently. In August we went to two services and have continued to grow to the point where the two services will not last much longer.
I rejoice in the growing impact ReCAST is able to have in our community for the cause of Jesus Christ. And yet, by God’s grace, He has brought us to a crossroads regarding our meeting space. Our 3,000 square feet storefront is not going to hold us for much longer and three services seems like a crazy option. So, we have embarked on a property search.
This process has highlighted to me the spiritual dimension of ordinary decisions. In the end, we must decide whether or not to pull the trigger and buy/build a facility. Without question, this is a major decision in the history of any organization and I cannot help but feel like we are at a defining moment. But the reality is that God has not revealed in Scripture anything akin to “build a new building on that 5 acres on the corner of Red Arrow and Main.”
In the end, we are left with faith: a trusting dependence upon God to continue to move HIS agenda forward in the community of Mattawan. ReCAST has been privileged to be a part of that plan over the last few years, and I believe that He has a future for us. I look forward to the future with anticipation, because the God who has blessed us in the past is the same God who will walk with us in the future. He doesn’t promise everything will all be awesome financially. He doesn’t promise that we will have an awesome facility in our timeline. But He does promise to walk with His children every step of the way! And it is my knowledge and experience of a God who has proven Himself faithful in my life and in Scripture that gives me a rock solid hope for the future.
Please pray for ReCAST Church and our need for a facility of God’s choosing!
